Something Worth Reading

One day, Plato asked his teacher, “What is love? How can I find it?”

His teacher answered, “There is a vast wheat field in front. Walk forward without turning back, and pick only one stalk. If you find the most magnificent stalk, then you have found love.”

Plato walked forward, and before long, he returned with empty hands, having picked nothing.

His teacher asked, “Why did you not pick any stalk?”

Plato answered, “Because I can only pick once, and yet I could not turn back. I did find the most magnificent stalk, but I did not know if there were any better ones ahead so i did not pick it. As I walked further, the stalks that I saw were not as good as the earlier one, so I did not pick any in the end.”

His teacher then said, “And that is love.”

On another day, Plato asked his teacher, “What is marriage? How can I find it?”

His teacher answered, “There is a thriving forest in front. Walk forward without turning back again and chop down only one tree. If you find the tallest tree, then you have found marriage.”

Plato proceeded to walk forward and before long, he returned with a tree. This tree was not thriving and it was not tall either. It was only an ordinary tree.

His teacher asked, “Why did you chop down such an ordinary tree?”

Plato answered, “Because of my previous experience, I had walked through the field but returned with empty hands. This time, I saw this tree and I felt that it was not bad, so I chopped it down and brought it back. I did not want to miss this opportunity.”

His teacher then said, “And that is marriage.”

“You see, son. Love is the most beautiful thing to happen to a person. It is an opportunity but you do not realize its worth when you have it. And it is only when it is gone like the field of stalks then you will start to realize and appreciate its worth.”

“Marriage is like the tree you have chopped down. It is a compromise.”

Why I hate landed property

Nono. i’m not being attempting to be another kid in Singapore who says,”i’m very stupid one” when i get As in my exam or “i’m very poor one. everyday no money.” when i got like a few fifty bucks notes in my wallet.

Landed property is good ah.
u got ur own land, own area to roam around in.

But there’s down-sides to living in a landed property too.
One of which irks me and my whole family is the presence of so many living things.
(note: the living things here are not the same in my previous post)

It’s more of irritating than scared when i see BIG ANTS, FAT PALE LIZARDS, USAIN-BOLT-FAST COCKROACHES.
They just come and go as and when they like.

The ants seem to like to hang around my 1st storey, mainly the kitchen and the walls in the living room.
And ants here aren’t referring to normal-i’m-very-friendly ants. They are big fat ants. U can see them from like many metres away that kind.
My dad has officially become the president of the Anti-Ant Movement in the house.
He’s busy killing ants all the time.
From the walls to the floors to the doors, he’s always the first to get to them.
haha.
Even if u ask him to stop, he will still continue to smack and punch the ants.

And today, i seem to see my brother following in his footsteps.
Last December, when we were in Japan holidaying, dora had to face hundreds of flying ants on her own.
They were crawling all over the lamps, the walls and sofa.
okay, these flying ants are those ants that can fly and they are attracted to light.
In chinese, they are called 水蚊 i think.
She still smsed my mum then and said she scared cos got these funny insects flying around and taking over the house.
haha.

There can only be ONE reason

Currently, there is one type of human that i don’t really understand.

1. human who do not trust what u do and yet they still ask u to do things for them.

okay, human may be too nice a word. I would say living thing.
If you are a normal human, naturally you wouldn’t ask others – those who are unsure of their stuff or u don’t trust – to help u do things because in the end, u might be screwed and hence asking such others to do stuff for u is not worth it.

But if u are that kind who dun trust someone to do something for you, and yet somehow u keep doing that and hence this results in yourself getting screwed. no, it doesn’t stop here. Then u will proceed to screwing the someone who u DO NOT TRUST in the first place and the cycle repeats when u ask that someone to do something again.
If u are this kind of person, u are not a normal human, u are just a living thing.

haha i’m not really pissed. I just feel like stating this point to let the general public know that we should not only dislike people who are liars or irresponsible penguins, but we should also be aware that there’s another type of thing for us to dislike
how cool is that.

And, i just don’t understand something.

What for an organization spend like tens over millions of dollars on a system that they do not trust – the fact that everyone in that organization still has to do it the manual way proves it. Hence, everyone is doing extra work now, when the workload is supposed to be reduced.

Words just aren’t enough to express how much i love sugary apple fondues.

and i’m sick.
Down with a flu and sore throat.

Got mc for today and tmr.
But saturday still have to stay in.
sian sia.haha. maybe i’ll bring monopoly to play or maybe i’ll just spend the whole day watching tv in office.

yes, i still want my driving licence.

Currently, there’s 393 days left to my PINK IC.
But, i don’t really want it as badly as i did in the past.
what i want now is MY DRIVING LICENCE.

My TP is like in january 2009, which is 3 months away?
sian 1 whole fat pie/cake/mudpie.

Anyway, i had my driving lesson just now.
And it was kinda exciting sia.
First time, i change gears change like free.
Then scare Mr Chia here and there cos i didn’t slow down at the amber light.
I just accelerated through. haha.

Meeting an officer cadet, 3rd sergeant and recruit later at PS for lunch.
Lunch at 3.30pm sia. cos they went to chiong at zouk last night.
I good boy so i never go chiong with them.
the OCT Handoko still smsed me at 6am “aye we lunch abit later ok? i go sleep now.”
haha.

then after that, i’ll be meeting hippo at suntec
She’s working at this ah bu neh neh carnival called the Zee Carnival.
got bollywood stars coming down sia.
maybe i will catch one of them and take a picture with them, then after that say, “oh shit. u are not brad pitt sia. u are Bradabunaneh Pittera.”
okay not funny.

oh ya. that reminds me.

Someone please inject me with some sense of humor because i think i am lacking it.
I am willing to exchange my common sense for some sense of humor.

The past week has passed quite quickly.
